About

G2 Cattle

Our Heritage

30 years of high quality, low-maintenance cattle

The mission to produce and show top quality cattle began in the 80's, with a presence in the Maine-Anjou breed. The late patriarch of our family, Ben Gustafson, had the keen eye that began building the program, eventually finding his way to the top of the Maine-Anjou breed.

Overtime, the program continued to shift and evolve, moving away from the purebred industry and into commercial cattle with a focus on show steers. A trace of Maine-anjou was often found in our top steers and heifers that continued to win banners throughout western Canada over the years.

It was Ben's desire to produce high quality, low-maintenance, easy doing cattle, and it is this legacy that we proudly carry on today.

Our Current Focus

Top quality Purebred Angus, game changing Purebred and Percentage Maine-Anjou, and Banner raising club calves

At G2 Cattle we are continuing to focus on top quality breeding stock that bring the unique combination of power and functionality. In 2021, we made a shift in direction to dive headfirst into the purebred Angus world, alongside our previous work in the Maine industry. We've added multiple key pieces to our program to come out of the gates strong, and will have a competitive offering coming into the spring. Look to see G2 Cattle bringing a standout purebred Angus program to a pasture near you!

Our long-standing involvement with the Maine Anjou breed has continued to evolve over the years and we are excited to push the limits on where our program is headed. A collection of G2 percentage and purebred bulls will be bringing fresh mating possibilities to all the top Maine breeders for years to come.

Along with the purebred programs, G2 has continued to produce strong show steers and heifers that will be competitive in jackpots and junior shows across Canada and the US for years to come!
